Funding Opportunities for Faculty Members
The Centre welcomes applications for research funding. In total, up to five research projects will be funded per year, with a maximum funding envelope of $10,000 each.
The purpose of the research awards is to facilitate both practical and theoretical research on the capital markets, preferably with a focus on how current developments (e.g., fintech) affect them. Please consult the latest call for funding proposals below.
Student Scholarship and Award Opportunities
Each fall semester, the Centre welcomes applications for one PhD scholarship and four MSc scholarships valued at $20,000 and $6,000, respectively. The purpose of the scholarships is to facilitate research on capital markets and to provide support to graduate students interested in empirical and/or theoretical capital markets research. Please consult the latest calls for PhD scholarship applications and for MSc scholarship applications below.
In addition, the Centre provides funding for six renewable annual in-course undergraduate bursaries valued at $2,250 each. The awards are administered through Concordia’s Financial Aid and Awards Office (FAAO). Please contact the FAAO for information on how to apply for one of these awards.

BMO PhD Scholarship 2022/23 Expired Scholarship
The BMO PhD scholarship is funded by the Jacques Ménard - BMO Centre for Capital Markets at the John Molson School of Business. Full-time PhD students who have successfully completed their comprehensive exams may apply. The scholarship is open to Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and international students who are conducting or who will conduct targeted research in the area of finance, with a preference given to students focusing on capital markets research. The selection of the recipient will be based on academic excellence and the relevance of the research topic.

BMO MSc Scholarships 2022/23 Expired Scholarship
The BMO MSc scholarships are funded by the Jacques Ménard - BMO Centre for Capital Markets at the John Molson School of Business. Full-time MSc students who have completed their course work – or are expected to do so by the end of this fall term – may apply. The scholarships are open to Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and international students who are conducting or who will conduct targeted research in the area of finance, with a preference given to students focusing on capital markets research. The selection of the recipients will be based on academic excellence and the relevance of their research topics.

In total, five (5) research projects will be funded, with a maximum funding envelope of $10,000 each.
